Knockin' on the Powder Keg
Tonight, we're not gonna have ourselves a real good time. We're not going to feel aliii -iiii -iiii iiiiiiiiiive. And the world has already turned inside out!
And that's ok, because we gots works to do!
I've said this before... years ago even, but I MEAN IT THIS TIME.
We're on the precipice of powder keg status. People will say Minecraft got lucky, people will say Terraria, or Stardew Valley, or Undertale were just at the right place at the right time. Maybe... I dunno. But this much is true, before they had a chance to become overnight successes, the games had to be GOOD!
Will SeaCrit ever become an overnight successful? Will it even become even a modest embarrassment of a handful of sales? Heck if I know! So much of what happens in this crazed world is arbitrary and outside of sensible control, which now that I think about it, gives us a snowballs chance!
Point is, once I get some of these darned items in, once I get some of these fish spawning, once we build up the world a bit more and find the fun, it could be on the verge of blowin' up any day we start turning some heads.
Am I totally delusional? Just one of millions of neckbeards crazed with self aggrandizement and delusions of grandeur. Absolutely , yes. Doesn't change the fact we're pumped and ready to whoop some ass tonight! That's four days in a row m*ther fuckers! And that's all that fucking matters. Full steam ahead, DAMN THEM TORPEDO'S!
Getting so close to the stage of development I've always dreamt of, building out the enemies, tuning up the items, tuning complex builds and progression paths for a wide variety of players. We've been eating our veggies and doing our homework abstaining from the fun bits FOR YEARS.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOON! But for now... a bit more tedious pain in the ass. It's just another Tuesday.
So what are we working on today? I honestly have no idea, everything needs doin'! We could polish every single ability and movement mechanic in the game a bit more, we could implement these new items and prefab and build up the progression system (i'm leaning towards this) or we could just open up our TODO list and get lost in the sea of random tasks we've accumulated. Who know!? Does it matter? NOPE! All that matters is we put the axe to the grind.
