A quickie 'fore the devin'
So wasn't sure I was gonna get to work, not feelin' the best and feeling burned out, but I get the project open and immediately after Unity loads I see all that new shit we were working on last week and i remember the waveswim updates and I remember, "Wait a minute, our project is kicking ass!"
Not sure how much we're gonna get done, but I at least wanted to get the ball rolling again. Chancing a couple cups worth of tea caffiene. No idea what we'll work on, but it doesn't really matter, there's much that needs doin', so we're just gonna open up the damned thing and get to it!
Oh quick thoughts on waveswim! Totally revamped, I've improved several kinks, all the mechanics i'm happy with now. It's now just a system that I believe to be purely positive. So many little tweeks and improvements I can't even recall. One tiny change off the top of my head is not ALL collisions cause you to crash and stop, there are 2 levels of hits now, if you graze the scenery you lose 50% of your built up wave speed, if you crash hard head on you lose all of it. Tons and tons of other adjustments to generation, turn values, damage, collision size, etc.
Whew, we're coming back out of that phase where we're worthless and have no value day to day in regards to finishing the project, but that's about to change in an instance.
I'm really feeling the face to face today. Another nice thing about taking a little break, is you look forward to listening to music again! Ok, expelling enough juice on these silly nothings. Time to do a fresh boot of the system and get to it.
Edit: wasn't feeling great so took a little break. Heard one of my neighbors blasting mariachi music at 3am and I love that shit so it was a good time to just sit outside and listen.
God damn, I just unironically like Mariachi music. I love flipping through the stations and sometimes you'll happen on some accordians and i'll just scream out "AHHH HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" And that may sound derogatory in this candy ass, easily offensive age, but I really do just love this stuff. When I was a kid my grandpa would visit from time to time and his favorite thing to do was go to the local mexican restaurants. And they'd have little mariachi bands, and I would always ask him to play "La Bamba". And they probably always thought, "Oh no, it's another blanco nino that's going to ask us to play fucking La Bamba again."
Anyway, I play gypsy kings from time to time, and I know of absolutely no other Mariachi bands, but there's gotta be THOUSANDS of them!
Something about mariachi music, it's not some collection of angsty teens trying to sing about how sad they are or how miserable capitalism is, or any of that horse shit. No poppy corporate sludge, no post modern nothings. Just good wholesome people who love music, love guitar, love accordian, love the trumpet. Playing those fucking instruments didn't help you get laid, not state side anyway, but those mother fuckers learned those instruments so they could rock out and play that good wholesome music about love and life and just that traditional goodness of song.
Feeling a little better now, think we're gonna get back to it after we look up some good mariachi bands.
I STILL LOVE THIS SONG, PLAY IT AGAIN PENDEJOS!
Didn't this guy get shot to death? Damned shame.Get SeaCrit
