A blog before the slog

Nice quiet night. Don't want to squander too much energy on a blog, but felt like a light blather before opening Unity.

What to work on? Sometimes this is the all important question, and sometimes it's just an impediment to putting the axe to the grind.

I would like to think I'm on the cusp of putting little rudimentary level setups together, but in order to do that I need to get initial test cases of spawn types in, different NPC types, get items in, get secrets in, etc. etc.

So tonight is going to be a little bit of a pain in the arse, which is hardly anything new. But I am greatly looking forward to the nights that I can go in, play a game and adjust a game. I'm so tired of implementing base features, so tired of spreading myself thin across a wealth of systems.

We pay the piper. Before we can build a team, before we can find support, we must dig deep and show there's something worth supporting here.

Same old story we've been living through for many a long night.

Excited to be feeling better! I don't want to harp on it, but the past few months were rough. Hope this sustains, if this sustains maybe this whole venture can be worth it and reach its potential.

It's the same old same old! But different. I think combat is coming online, I think all the foundational elements and the vision for a replayable single game with infinite scaling is coming together. All the grand plans must wait for this initial incarnation to come together though, gotta be patient... but can't be too realistic or the dream dies. It's all the naive optimism that's gotten us this far, so f*ck it, let's give it hell tonight!

Another blather in the wind, another dev session in the dark, another day gone, but we'll be one inch closer to this game not being trash.

TIME FOR TEA B*TCHES! BAHahahaha- eh, it's hard to get pumped for tea like I used to for coffee, it's just not the same kind of buzz. It doesn't help that the tea theme song i've chosen is a bit more bittersweet.

I miss Mississippi John Hurt, but you can't go wrong with Cat Stevens. I've gotta find something more upbeat and fittingly belligerent for my new caffeine vice. Damn, this music from times past just hits so much harder, none of the shallow, petty BS that's lurking under every creative work these days.
