To Build or Not to Build
I’m starting to get an itchy finger to try to push hard and get a new build out there.
And then I start to brace for impact. What if it’s a total disaster, what if no one plays it like all the other times we released builds. What if it’s successful, what if we end up the next Phil Fish? Just some demonized figure of scorn? And how ‘tarded to even dream our came could become successful?
But that’s the thing. I might be crazy (we are, but I repeat myself), but I really think the game is becoming good, AND I MEAN IT THIS TIME!
I’m going to save myself the exercise of blathering too long about this, but long story short, it’s already stressful enough working on the game any more. Those years upon years of burnout building on itself, the endless void of decline, all the stress of this cultural war waging all throughout, stressing about this industry, stressing about the Unity engine, stressing that any game that pops up that isn’t made be “the right” person will be the target of endless attacks in a myriad of ways.
But what else can we do? We’ve fought, kicked and screamed, bitched and moaned all these years. What do we do now?
Gotta get back to work in SeaCrit.
Not going to stress pushing builds, but I do believe it will be soon, when it’s ready it’s ready. There is just too much good stuff coming online now and I gotta make sure it’s all coming together.
When we DO upload the next builds, we’ll do the whole shebang. Web build, android, Mac, PC.
Oh ended up getting sidetracked by endless issues I didn’t realize existed, but that’s how it goes. That’s gamedev, we pay the piper, or as others call it “tech debt”. That’s the one time I’m using that term, I much prefer to lambast that asshat piper fellow.
So today hoping to have a solid day of getting the buneses in order, and then it’s on to items then enemies and world building. Most all these things are in a good spot, so it’s mostly tweaking and tuning and getting everything online.
Pretty bland blog today, and that's a good thing, trying to minimize stress and carry on with dev.
Edit: WTF was I doing Linking Aenema in this mundane blog? Feel like I kinda wasted it. Oh well.
