It's a Big Club, and We're Not in It
I don’t do this. I try to build a sort of a mystique in this blog and keep out the mundane nature of the outside world. But this is just too good, to perfectly illustrates the total insanity of what I’ve been ranting and raving over the past several years.
Here Asmongold deconstructs the false moral authority that these weasels have used for years and years to convince themselves that they are deserving of the internal political structures that have dominated gaming for these terrible, terrible years.
You see, the ultimate privilege, is moral privilege. To be able to do whatever the fuck you want, and to be celebrated for it.
To be able to eliminate people you don’t like, or who you don’t like, and to have people around you who will pat you on the back and celebrate you for destroying the shared enemy.
It’s hard to genuinely impress people, to find people who have your back for doing actual hard work and making tangible, positive differences in this world that don’t always net you immediate satisfaction.
And this is what we’ve ended up with, and I have called them the “smarm fucks” the people so far up their own asses that they don’t even see what they’ve become. Judgemental, cultish, hostile, holier than thou, and destructive to anyone that doesn’t lick their arse holes.
It would be one thing if they had a studio or two, or if they kept to themselves and didn’t affect others. But these high horsed, soft handed mother fuckers have had total control of the entire world for the past decade, and they have leveraged that power to gain even more power, to bring more into the fold, to suppress others harder and harder.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and you can fool some of the people all of the time…
BUT YOU CAN’T FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME
We are done living under you see no evil, hear no evil moralists. We are done as you turn blind eyes to your own evils, ineptitudes and SELF SERVING BULLSHIT.
People are SICK AND FUCKING TIRED of you acting like saints as you slit their fucking throats.
At long fucking last this is being exposed for all to see.
But how much fucking decay have we already experienced? How much of the damage is irreversible? How many incredible careers never started? How many people gave up? How many beautiful families were never born into this world? All to astroturf this disgusting power hierarchy of the most disingenuous, self serving jack asses.
It’s actually rage inducing to think about the low caliber, weak, and petulant smarm fucks that stole this incredible industry for the sole purpose of having their way with it, using every trick and underhanded means of keeping their subversions secret, and staving off all opposition as long as possible. Gaming has been ruined by a throng of self obsessed boot licking cowards.
Addendum:
Regarding yesterday’s post. I no longer think Elon is buying Unity, he is far too invested into his own AI systems and paving a new way forward, also I don’t know if this was intentional, but elon let slip “epic games” in the talk yesterday. Why the hell am I blathering about this stupid crap in this blog?
What I really need to be doing is working my ass off before AI makes it as easy as asking a simple question and some system spits out a game no problem, or else all these years of hard work and sacrifice will have been totally meaningless.
Our crazed Unity post for the day:
The thread was locked shortly after. I don’t know if the things we post are positive or negative any more, or if people think we’re crazed assholes or not. I like to think we’re fighting for positivity and progress in this industry, but considering what an asshole i’ve been of late sometimes I wonder if we’re just pouring salt in others’ wounds. I don’t know. It’s hard to stand for things in this industry because there are good people on all sides, but humanity has a funny way of turning good people against one another.
