WELP! So yesterday we found inner piece and we're above all the conflicts and the world is sunshine and rainbows now, RIIIIIGHht!?

So I was thinking about the nature of doing "the greater good". And this is where a lot of the world's strife comes from, because everyone thinks they're the good guys. No. Everyone KNOWS they are the good guys. Everyone knows that they are standing to the bullies, everyone knows that their actions will lead to greater prosperity.

This is the fundamental question of civilization. How do we achieve the greater good?

We are oblivious to the truth, because the world is too complex to comprehend and we are all biased towards wanting to believe "facts" that empower us to achieve the greater good. We're not acting in OUR OWN BEST INTEREST! That's unheard of, we're the good ones, all my compatriots believe so!

WE CAN'T ALL BE WRONG COULD WE!?

Rofl, I don't know what I"m doing, i've blathered this stuff endlessly as have many others. It's the weirdest topic to understand.

They say "knowledge is power" but nothing could be further from the truth. "EMOTION is power" is a far better phrase, but that would undo the spell.

I'm not sure where i'm going with this. The world is broken. In a multitude of ways from a multitude of self fulfilling lies. Up is down and left is right and if you don't coddle my strong feelings on this issue you are a demon and I am in my right to destroy you.

Nothing unites us anymore. There is no thread to follow to see the familiar humanity in each of us.

It's the strangest thing, the more both side hates, and tribalizes, and stirs the pot, the more we are all the same! You would think we could see this common destructive nature and seek within one another to fight against it.

We once had a dream that our children would one day live in a world where they were not judged by their tribal ideology but by the content of their character.

It was nice to savor some positive progress in this world and at Unity yesterday, to see that our future was maybe a little brighter, that we were maybe learning to be a little less spiteful.

But the price of progress is eternal vigilance.

We are not fighting the base animal natures of favoritism and unwarranted judgement in others, but also in OURSELVES.

This is where we get hung up the most. We live in a world devoid of forgiveness, devoid of admitting we are wrong. We live in a world where a single infraction will lead to having your hand severed and your mouth sewn shut.

In the land of eye for an eye, we are all blind.

We gotta learn to laugh things off again, we gottta learn to realize that words are just words and these online platforms are just places for people to have a good scream and be abject fucktards to one another, because this day to day has become such a milquetoast hellscape that everything is falling apart from all the codlings and the back scratching and the turnings of blind eye.

And here I was yesterday wondering if the fire was dying down and we'd find ourselves in some sophomoric and comfortable groove XD!

Nope! Lucky us the world is still as fucked and angry as ever.
