Fight

Gamedev is a fucking slog, I tell ya man. It'll kick your ass, you'll try to appease it, and then it'll kick your ass again. It is a never-ending pummel with no respite or reward year after year as your soul's churned to ash. And we had to go and make it even more of a pain with all this red-hot infighting.

So much lost...

What an intensely painful time to be a gamedev. Industry exploding, world with knives at each others throats, political turmoil gripping us deep seeded resentments and cognitive dissonances are harbored by stubborn habit.

I haven't made any SeaCrit of my beliefs in this dark little corner of the internet. The lines are pretty clear.

I have tip toed on eggshells, as we all have done over these terrible years of hostility and activism.

What a long strange trip it's been.

But I am increasingly optimistic for the future. I am increasingly optimistic that we can wake from this fever dream and see that we've all been so petty, we've all been so vindictive and self serving and mad.

I don't know whether to punch a hole through the wall or to weep over what precious things have been wretched from us over the years.

I know I've gone hard on this blog. It is warranted. I hope soon the world soon sees that, finds the will to look inward to see the darkness and to make a change.

The grand irony is that we are all the same. We all have the same inclinations and petty tribalism within us that can only be stifled by the building of character. I was not better than anyone else to take this venture, just a castaway weirdo that didn't quite make the cut on the gravy train. We're all the victims of circumstance.

The times are finally a' changin', and it couldn't come soon enough, because I wasn't sure how much longer we could take it.

I'm over the moon with how well development continues with SeaCrit, we're down and dirty with the nuts and bolts for now, tuning up and fixing the foundations and pipelines.

Soon we will wake up, open the project and make it fun, indulging in that prestige, the lifeblood of this world that others have taken so terribly for granted.
