A blerb of blather, a blerb of WORK!
Seriously. Just a tiny chunk of work but so glad to be back at it. There's so much to do but one step at a time.
I had a realization, no more wild, aimless pushes forward just working on random shit. There's no light at the end of the tunnel when trying to work on the game as a whole. We will focus on larger goals one at a time, and each will be complete and never need to be created again. Tangible, great progress towards a great game.
Big goals to work towards:
Get first set of all items in the game.
Get first set up upgrades locked in and used by a slew of mini boss enemies.
Get first pass puchasable versions of these items and upgrades.
TELEPORTERS TO AWESOME REUSABLE AREAS LIKE BOSS CAVES AND CAVES, custom enemy spawn lists.
Add seacrit teleporters throughout the game that takes the player across the ever growing world.
Beyond that. POLISH POLISH POLISH and create ever expanding areas and enemies to fight.
Once the above goals are done we have only to add harder areas, scaling difficulties, and that's it!
Each of the above objectives I believe will take 2 days tops.
Everything is falling into place.
What a weird time to be alive. Been thinking about the nature of AI, and the nature of existence, and why are we here and what's the purpose of life? With society crumbling around us, with all the endless nihilism and hedonism and spite and hate engulfing us all, it feels as though we have more a fire under our ass than ever to rise and kick some arse.
Ruminating on all this, I've come up with some thoughts that I thought might go well into the overarching story and parable of SeaCrit.
We can't ever eradicate strife, we can't ever "win". Should we ever create the perfect existence devoid of pain, fear, danger, challenge, purpose. We will have lost. We will have created a singularity of nothing.
No future, no past. A crystalline nothing.
For all life, I've cursed our madness, I've despised the white lies, the cowardice, the back scratching, and shady deals. The preferential tribalisms and subversions that have rocked this world and stunted our ascension towards the singularity.
But now clearer than ever, I see purpose in our futures, a greater struggle.
There is are no victory if there is no "evil". And should SeaCrit rise from these deeps, some will see the second coming of the wretched neckbeard.
Who knows how many dimensions we recursively fumble through, at which levels they are constant and how likely we are to blink from existence from endless realities, or if we're emulated infinitely throughout forever. Maybe both?
No good without evil, no order without chaos, and all that horse shit. Maybe just when we think we have it all figured out another layers peals back from above, or we scratch one open below.
