We are COOKIN'
Truth be told, I don't even want to blather about SeaCrit today! I just got my hands on some psyllium husk powder and it's changing EVERYTHING about how I cook in the kitchen on this zero gluten diet.
I used to cheat a bit, I added a bit of flour to my dough like pizza doughs, naan bread, etc. BUT! No more! This stuff is like magic, you use 1/8 proportion to almond flour (savory) or cocoonut powder (sweet) recipes and no longer will that bread simply fall apart. And it tastes pretty good too! My only gripe is you lose that nice fluffy pure white look that's so inately naan bread, but whatever. I still can't get over how much better I've been eating lately. I don't even feel like i'm missing out on great foods any more! Excited to try throwing together a new pizza dough recipe. Oh and I tried throwing some parmesan cheese in and it really kicked up the flavor.
This shit isn't even hard! It tastes great, isn't too expensive, and allows you to be SO MUCH HEALTHIER! It blows my mind how little people know about nutrition science, I was one of them. We put ZERO effort as a society to being healthy, it really speaks to our mass nihilism as a people that we just consume garbage made by other people with zero care for the health benefits and long term issues they cause, because we can't be assed to cook or grow our own food. It's so friggin' sad.
Can't sell medical treatments if people are thin. People will only buy food if it's stuffed with carbs and fructose. We're all to blame. We're all fat, lazy, stupid slobs, and it wasn't until I felt like I was dying that i got up off my ass and did something about it.
It's so nice to know I'm being healthy, getting exercise, eating well, and working on what I believe to be a cool project. Even if the world is ass fucking backwards.
A'ight, let's talk gamedev a little bit, plan on getting some light cardio here and then getting to it!
So i keep obsessing about workflow, and how am I going to build up higher quality playable areas, and I think, ok ,we're not going to do middle of the road okish looking areas, we're going to make it look GOOD! And then I think about how that's spinning wheels in mud, because if this project finds any success at all, I would like to commission artists to revamp a great deal of the existing artwork. More than anything we need nice squarish, easy to fit collision around various rock formations. It blows my mind there aren't simple rock shapes square, rectangle, etc. with nice easy fitting collision detection in asset stores. Most everything is randoml, clunky high poly rocks that don't fit many game types.
Oh well, must more evidence the world is crazy and no one knows WTF they're doing as everyone becomes increasingly obsessed with bullshit politics and tribalism. This industry is obsessed with everything but creating great games.
So anyway, after all that overthinking, I came to the conclusion we'll just keep making things how we've been doing all along and try to make it look passably pretty and once we like how the play is, we'll go in there and do detail passes.
Funny how most things I worry 'bout, never happen anyway...
Things get crazy, and through random chance sometimes innocent and good things get caught up in the crossfire. We can't have the good without the bad. So try to just appreciate the bad times with the good. Hard times can lead to growth if you try to keep the right mentality, and good times, if you're not careful will lead to hubris, gluttony, and the first one now will later be last...Get SeaCrit
