Blatherception
So this all unfolded fast, I'm a published author again!
https://www.geeksandgamers.com/az-vs-act-man-a-requiem-for-the-haters-from-the-g...
Saw that some of the YouTube spaces I follow were seeking writers and I threw my hat in the ring, and they were naïve enough to give me a shot! So far really enjoying the gig. More articles to come in the future.
SO LET'S F*CKING GO!!!
It's also an exciting time for indie devs like me to see the old media apparatuses failing who have shunned and suppressed developers such as yours truly. Their constant favoritisms and not giving a darn about the games! REEP WHAT YOU SOW F*CKERS!
I'm not sure what this means moving forward. How well does this new space grow for new reviewers, how much more room opens up for independent games?
Who knows!?
But in the meantime I find it very exciting! It's so cool to be part of a group again who care about games and want to tell things as it is. It's early days and things are very open right now, but I'm hoping moving forward I get to keep a unique voice and get the opportunity to speak to a growing audience. And who knows, maybe this game becomes good soon and I can start speaking with some authority on indie development. There is SO MUCH to discuss in this space that hasn't been spoken about. Important things like, I dunno, ACTUALLY MAKING GAMES! ACTUALLY FINDING THE FUN! Actually wanting to give players what they want...
I'm really stoked, and there's a lot of room to grow here, and a long awesome journey ahead perhaps!
In the meantime, we gotta switch gears back to development. We're going to try to do gamedev and maybe a bit of journalism and opinion pieces in the future. In short. NOTHING NEW! Cuz I blather about this stuff all the time anyways!
Who knows what the future holds, but for the first time in a long while. We see a light at the end of the tunnel. Health has been good! Game is becoming good! And I think we just wrote a good article!
Nowhere to go but up from here!
I was planning more blathers about my head space about what I want to write about, about what's going through my mind as an actual developer working with a site like Geeks and Gamers, the social war going on with such spaces, the perceived ideological strife that could arise from all this. But let's save that for another time.
Hell, maybe we'll write an article on it some day!
