Back to the fire and flames
The longest of journeys begins with a single step. And if on t hat journey you end up stumbling about, lost in a forest, and become set upon by a pack of ravenous, wild deer, you may end up fleeing, arms flailing about, screaming wildly and darting in random directions.
When the deer have had their fill, you piece yourself together and get back to the journey. The trek back also begins with a single step.
Why do we obsess over singular steps? I'VE STILL GOT 100,000,000,000 DAMNED STEPS TO GO!
TIME TO GET TA' STEPPEN'
(I was going to post a Steppenwolf song here, but their songs are either overplayed or sh*t, so let's go with this)
Time to get to get.... WORKIGN OUT WHERE THE PATH WAS AGAIN!
60 years ago this song came out. I take solace that as the days slip away, there's still life left to strive towards something.
EDIT: Out of the septic tank of poor health and back into the burning uncertainty of development! For a very long time there I was wondering if I'd ever get back to work again, some pretty miserable times and notions of utter failure. But here we go, back to the grind! Got a solid 8 hour work day in. Good god it's been too long. Brain is fried, legs asleep, stomach jittery from coffee. We're back in this BEYOCH!
Really stoked with how work went. Still know the project like the back of my hand, immediately shot down the bugs that popped up. Did a lot of cleanup of the scene and attacked the core issues of world layouts and UI clutter. These massive pillars of gameplay aren't going to be better overnight, but the wheels are in motion. I have a plan, and that plan is starting to come together. Gameplay polish and upgrade tuning will be an ongoing process as I attack these core systems.
It's been a long while. But I'm about to have a little bit of coffee. I don't have the energy, nor am I feeling shameless enough to do the usual Mississipi John Hurt deal. I'm hoping this Maxwellhouse and song will pep me up and give me a bit of energy to get some work done today, let me just listen to a little jingle of this jangle. BY THE POWER OF MISSISSIPI JOHN HURT, GIVE ME THE STRENGTH GOD DAMN IT TO WRANGLE THIS FORSAKEN MURDER FISH GAME.
Ain't Maxwell House alright.
