Tired and burned out, might take a day off
"Tired and burned out, might take a day off" was the notion that just crossed my mind.
F THAT! Gonna power through a bit more work once this coffee enters my bloodstream.
A thought just crossed my mind that I've posted about before, This still isn't a game. I've never taken a break, came back fresh and thought, whoa, this is turning into a good game, unfortunately. So i feel weird after all these years and I don't even know what SeaCrit is, or when it will come together. I just know it's making huge gains and getting better.
Hoping it becomes a full game soon, been grinding for too long to still be at this point and though it may take continued work ,i'm happy with the new scene set ups, so everything can be independently iterated upon. I'm keeping the world small and building up a process and finding the play along the way.
I feel as though this is a smart path forward, not too much content, not too little, as I tune and tweak the various systems of items, shops, spawners, levels, etc.
I think the days of working on singular systems a day are over, I will now be transitioning to broader strokes. I want to add in secret teleport locations to allow for quick travel across an expanding map. I'm going to be expanding on items and revamping and adjusting item modifiers for various items. I'll be adjusting and revamping enemy AI and stats and spawn arrangements.
There is a TON to get online, and to balance, and polish day after day. Inching towards an actual game still after all this time. Every day things get a little better.
Whenever you're burning out or tired, and you think about getting to work on the project, part of your brain will think, how about in a bit? Or we'll do it tomorrow. Or, lets brainstorm what we're going to work on better...
F that noise too. Open the project, put on some hot jams, GET TO WORK.
The game is feelin sort of reinvented with more energy, slicker combat, more refined itemization elements, more direct and obvious enemy mechanics, better controls and polish across the board. Inch by inch I pray things are elevating each other
Pretty solid day, thought I got more work done since I got a lot off the todo list, but only 5ish hours of work. Still a very solid 5 hours. No huge bugs! Nothing to switch up work, so just 5 straight hours of solid progress, my brain doesn't know what to do after that. If I can keep this up a few more days should be in a great spot with an actual game with goals, bosses, places to explore, items to find, etc. Closing in on having the beginnings of an actual game.
