I F'd up recording again
So I've been trying to chronical this last month of dev by recording each dev session, and although I had a solid day of work today, I goofed on the recording again! THat's 2 sessions in a row that i've goofed, it's frustraiting because i push myself really hard when recording and do non stop work for many hours with no breaks, so when i finish and realize there was a recording issue, it's kind of frustrating.
Today I moved my desktop and when i reattatched the monitor it must have mixed up the target monitor settings in my recording, because I got a nice long video of my browser just playing music on Pandora. Not very exciting!
Oh well, got the following things done today:
Ran into a super annoying crash bug, found out it was a collider in one of my quest setups that would despawn, but if you're debugging and teleport to the other side, this huge chunk of geo would prevent fish from having any potential spawn location and it would causes the game to freeze. Was a pain to figure out, but I solved it by giving the loop an out after 20 attempts at creating a fish spawn location.
Show exp requirements in EXP bars
Fix Respawned NPC’s having home points set from camp spawn locations
Migrate away from rare item rolls, and instead make rare fish that drop rare items
Contexual “Item Bomb” test setups that spawns items based on what weapon and fish type you have equiped for each item type to balance item mods and unique items. Z,X,C
Create internal sheet showing all used hotkeys so i can better mix and max inputs for best debugging
Create 4 lists within upgrades to keep track of which ones have prefixes/ suffixes and link them for easy iteration
All the technical crap is done now (I think) All that's left to do is a little bit of playing to tune things, finish up all the prefixes and suffixes. It's kinda funny, I have so many prefixes and suffixs that it's actually quiet a pain in the ass, and i'm pretty proud of that. In Diablo there were just a few good ones, lifetap, haste, crit, etc, and they were all pretty boring. I think i've got a much broader set of mods that do a lot more interesting things, we'll see how it comes together soon!
Wow, a post with no introspective bitching and moaning, it's like a rare unique drop!
