Some days you dev, some days you make birthday cakes, and some days you just fix technical crap
I REALLY wanted to jump back into dev today after a couple days of hiatus, but that just wasn't in the cards.
One of the things I hate most in all the universe are repository issues. There's nothing quite like simultaneously worrying about your project simply disappearing into the unrecoverable void while also being frozen from getting any work done as you sweat over commits and getting vital tools online. I had some really major bugs the past couple days that were causing my project to not load properly, deleting the library folder fixed this after lots of attempts to fix it otherwise. Problem is my current repository solution is REALLY finicky when you delete the repo so i tried to migrate to a new one. Long story short today was a lot of frustration watching loading bars only to end up with a repository solution that doesn't work at all. So tomorrow F it i'm going back to the one that works and moving forward, i'll worry about this crap later.
On top of all that been lots of family time with lots of home cooked goodness, specialty cakes, home made pizzas, French fries, stir fries, and other things for some picky eaters and playtesters. It's nice to get away from the project now and then and feel useful in actual tangible ways. But part of my brain is like, dude, you gotta finish the fucking project, you're not getting any younger.
I'm hoping these past few days of distractions and frustrations have given my brain a break from sustained coding and I'll be ready to finagle the item system together, some quest systems and UI revamps I've been wanting to get in.
Think this sucker is going to start coming together soon.
